Validating your business concept is an important part of the entrepreneur process. Over one day, the 'Concept to Confidence' programme will introduce the small business owner to a proprietary tool called Bizezi and the module related to validating a business concept. The module helps the business owner to answer one key question "Will it work?" The module utilises a global tool called the 'Lean Canvas' and this has been further adapted to a Lean Canvas Plus by the Bizezi team.

How does it work?

A primary advantage of the Lean Business Canvas is its ability to aid entrepreneurs and startup ventures in framing their concepts clearly and using it as a roadmap to outline and test their theories. The ultimate aim of the Lean Canvas is to thoroughly articulate the central value proposition of the business and identify strategies to address customer challenges.

The data is collected via the app during the Business Validation event. The event is delivered by facilitators experienced in business.

The process utilises a New Zealand born app (bizezi) that has been developed to offer entrepreneurs an unmatched experience when it comes to shaping their business ideas into actionable plans. The app seamlessly integrates three crucial business tools providing users with an all-encompassing platform for creating well-informed and strategic business plans.

Who can apply and
eligibility

To receive Management Capability Development Fund support in from the economic development agency in your region your business should:

Have fewer than 50 full time employees
Complete a discovery session with a Growth Advisor
Have a New Zealand Business Number (NZBN). If not we can help.
Register on the RBP platform and meet registration criteria
Be the business owner or a person in a key management role such as a the business founder or senior manager
Be currently trading or looking to trade and to be or grow to be commercially viable

Businesses do not need to be GST registered to be eligible for one-to-some training

Clarity on the validity and viability of the business idea
Education on business process

Determine whether their customer problem is real and worth solving
Assess competitive positioning strategically
Evaluate revenue and cost model viability
Make a confident go/pivot/stop decision on their concept
